Bosnian Nana Goes Viral in America — and Dedo Is Right There With Her

While many influencers invest in expensive equipment and carefully planned content, one Bosnian woman has conquered social media in a completely different way. With honesty, warmth, and love for home cooking.

Nasiha, known on TikTok as @nasiha9421, today has more than 127,000 followers and over 3.2 million likes. Her videos are watched by tens of thousands of people every day, and her followers come from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the diaspora, and all over the world.

Nasiha and her husband live in Utica, New York, where they have built their home. While Nana is the main face in front of the camera, her husband makes almost all the recordings — she affectionately calls him simply Dedo. Their natural communication, humor, and everyday conversations are the reason many people feel as if they are sitting with them at the kitchen table.

There is no acting or expensive production on her profile. There is sarma, Bosnian pot, moussaka, pita, stuffed peppers, beans, baklava, hurmašice, and many other traditional Bosnian dishes that she prepares in the same way generations of Bosnian grandmothers did before her.
